Tracker Pro Guide V-175 Combo Walkthrough - Sebago Lake, Maine

Taking a Quick Look at a Fishing Boat

Walking through the New Hampshire Boat Show, you see a little bit of everything. Came across the Tracker Pro Guide V-175 Combo and hopped on to get a better sense of how these fishing setups are actually used.

Pete from Port Harbor Marine walked me through it, and pretty quickly brought it back to something familiar—Sebago Lake.

"Lakes like Sebago can get to be big water pretty quickly… you want to get home safe with your catch."

This particular model had a Mercury 115 on the back and a deep-V aluminum hull, which is really about handling those kinds of conditions when the lake picks up.

A Different Way to Move on the Water

One of the first things he pointed out was the trolling motor up front:

"It gives you that slower speed… to really get right on the fish."

It's a different approach than most boating—less about getting somewhere fast, more about moving slowly and with control, especially in tighter or shallow areas.

From my side, running a pontoon on Sebago, I've always felt like you need at least 200 horsepower or more to feel comfortable when the lake gets big. This is kind of the opposite mindset—smaller boat, less power, but built for a totally different purpose.

Space to Fish

The layout is simple but practical.

Open casting space in both the front and back, with enough room to move around without getting in each other's way.

"You can have two people fly fishing, plenty of space aboard."

Nothing complicated—just designed for how people actually use it.

Flexible Setup (With a Question Mark)

It's clearly built for fishing, but there are a few extras mixed in.

There's seating, storage, and a ski pylon at the back. That said, you don't see a ton of people tubing behind fishing boats… so maybe it gets used, maybe it's more of a "good to know it's there" situation.

If nothing else, it gives you options—or at least the idea of options.
