A Classic Maine Diner Experience in Windham

My wife Rachel and I recently stopped by Kelley's Sebago Diner after hearing so many people in the Sebago Lakes Region rave about it, and the place immediately delivered the kind of classic diner atmosphere you hope for. The restaurant was busy, energetic, and filled with the smell of fresh coffee and breakfast coming off the griddle. The checkerboard floor, the friendly servers calling out to regulars, and the steady hum of locals catching up over coffee make it feel less like a restaurant and more like a community gathering spot.

Service was quick, coffee mugs stayed full, and the menu read like a love letter to old-school New England breakfast — pancakes, waffles, hashes, omelets, and just about every breakfast meat you could ask for. As the sign out front says: Pancakes, Waffles, Hashes, Oh My.

The Food: Massive Portions, Done Right

If you come to Kelley's Sebago Diner hungry, you'll leave full. The portions are genuinely huge, and everything is cooked to order. We ordered two of the standout breakfasts on the menu and could not have been happier.

Rachel's Cheese & Veggie Omelet

Rachel went with a cheese and veggie omelet, packed with fresh vegetables and topped with melted cheese. It came out beautifully folded, plated with a side of crispy seasoned home fries, and even garnished with a fresh orchid — a small but charming touch you don't expect at a diner. The eggs were fluffy, the filling was generous, and the home fries had that golden, herby crust that only a well-seasoned diner griddle can produce.

My Cheese Omelet with Tomatoes, Mushrooms & Sausage

I went with a cheese omelet loaded with tomatoes, mushrooms, and sausage, served with a side of buttery Texas toast and home fries. It was savory, hearty, and exactly what you want on a chilly Maine morning — the kind of breakfast that fuels a full day on the lake, the trail, or the boat.

Don't Skip the Breakfast Cocktails

One of the things that surprised us most was the breakfast cocktail menu. Kelley's pours a serious Bloody Mary — garnished with bacon, a hard-boiled egg, an olive, and a pickle — and the orange juice on the side made it easy to round things out with a mimosa. For a casual Windham diner, the drinks were a fun, well-executed bonus that turned a quick breakfast into a relaxed weekend treat.

The Vibe: Local, Friendly, Unpretentious

What really sets Kelley's Sebago Diner apart is the feeling. It's the kind of place where the regulars know the staff by name, where families come in after a Saturday morning of errands, and where summer visitors get a real taste of small-town Maine. The walls are lined with little touches — a vintage coffee sign, chalkboard specials, and Pepsi memorabilia — that all add up to a diner with personality.
